Evangelical Leaders Urge Trump Administration to Release Global Health Funds

A coalition of over 120 evangelical leaders, musicians, and authors has sent a letter to the Trump administration requesting the release of $1.35 billion in global health funding. The signatories, which include both conservative and liberal-leaning figures, are concerned that these funds, currently designated for the closure of USAID programs, will expire at the end of September if not utilized for their original purpose of supporting international health initiatives.

The letter, organized by the 2030 Collaborative, emphasizes a shared moral commitment to protecting vulnerable populations, including children and pregnant women. Notable signatories include the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, a religious adviser to the president, as well as Rick Warren, Russell Moore, Amy Grant, and Shane Claiborne. The group argues that these investments are essential for saving lives and advancing American interests, urging White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought to reconsider the current allocation of the resources.
