Costa Rican President Addresses Latin Evangelical Alliance General Assembly

Costa Rican President Laura Fernández Delgado addressed evangelical leaders from 22 countries during the opening of the 13th General Assembly of the Latin Evangelical Alliance (AEL) in San José. The event, which brings together representatives from national evangelical alliances and associated entities, serves as a platform for discussing regional issues through plenary sessions, panels, and technical commissions focused on topics such as religious freedom, education, and humanitarian affairs.

During her address, President Fernández spoke openly about her Christian faith, stating that she does not feel ashamed to integrate her principles into her public role. She emphasized that her administration views security as a primary concern for the nation. The president was introduced by AEL Vice President Jorge Gómez Varela, who commended her long-standing commitment to values shared by the evangelical community. The assembly is scheduled to continue throughout the week, facilitating collaboration among church leaders from across the Ibero-American region.
