Filmmaker Beth Caulfield Shares Personal Testimony of Unexpected Pregnancy

Beth Caulfield, an ordained minister and mother of two, has released a feature film titled "Conceivable" that draws from her personal experience of an unexpected pregnancy in her mid-40s. Caulfield explains that when she first discovered she was pregnant while attending seminary, she did not feel the immediate joy she believed was expected of her as a Christian. She describes feeling a sense of shame and vulnerability, noting that she struggled with the internal pressure to reconcile her complicated emotions with her faith.

Caulfield says she created the film to address the "rough edges" of Christian life and to provide a space for honest conversation about unplanned pregnancies. She observes that the topic is often polarized by political discourse, which she believes prevents people from sharing their true struggles for fear of judgment. By telling this story, she hopes to encourage others to be transparent about their experiences and to trust in God even when life does not unfold according to their original plans.
