Churches in Eastern Congo Lead Ebola Prevention Efforts

The initiative, led by the organization ESADER with support from Christian Connections for International Health, focuses on equipping local pastors, youth leaders, and health workers with the knowledge to identify symptoms and promote essential hygiene practices.

As the region faces a rare strain of the virus that currently lacks an approved vaccine or specific treatment, health experts emphasize that community engagement is vital for containment. By distributing educational materials and handwashing supplies, the program aims to leverage the trust placed in faith leaders to encourage early medical intervention.
