Christianity Today Appoints Erik Petrik as New Editor in Chief
Christianity Today has announced a leadership transition as the organization marks its 70th anniversary. Erik Petrik, who has served as the ministry's chief creative officer since 2020, will assume the roles of chief content officer and editor in chief. Petrik is recognized for his work in multimedia production, including the podcast series The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill, and his background includes experience in journalism, film, and pastoral ministry.
Petrik succeeds Marvin Olasky, who is retiring from the position in mid-October. Olasky served as editor in chief for eighteen months, a period during which the ministry celebrated its 70th anniversary, updated its Declaration of Principles, and increased its focus on global church reporting. CEO Nicole Martin stated that Petrik’s diverse expertise in print, digital, and audio media makes him well-suited to lead the organization through a changing media landscape.
