Christian Teenager Hospitalized After Mob Attack in Pakistan

Ikhlaq Masih, a 17-year-old Christian, was severely beaten by a group of men in Nasrat Colony, Sheikhupura, on August 16. The incident occurred after Masih confronted Ali Shah and his associates, who had reportedly been harassing local women as they walked to church on Sundays. Following the confrontation, the group allegedly ambushed Masih with iron rods, motorcycle chains, and pistols.

Masih was transported to the District Headquarters Hospital, where medical staff confirmed he sustained severe injuries. While a First Information Report has been filed with local authorities, the victim's family expressed concern that the suspects' local influence might lead to their release on bail. The perpetrators have reportedly issued death threats against Masih should the family continue to pursue legal action. Local Christian community members are calling for a thorough investigation and protection for the family as they manage the teenager's medical recovery.
