Christian Rapper Hulvey Cancels Amsterdam Concert Over Explicit Venue Displays
Christian hip-hop artist Hulvey canceled a sold-out concert in Amsterdam on October 16, just one hour before he was scheduled to perform. The 27-year-old artist stated that he made the decision after discovering sexually explicit images and objects displayed throughout the venue, Club Annie. Hulvey explained that his team had requested that the venue management cover the graphic material, but the request was only partially met, leading him to call off the event.
Hulvey, who recently won a Dove Award for Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year, expressed concern for the families and young children in attendance, noting that he had encountered fans as young as seven years old during a pre-show meet-and-greet. The artist stated that he could not allow his audience to be exposed to the environment, emphasizing his commitment to his faith and the protection of his fans. The concert had been moved to the venue due to high ticket demand, and the artist's team reportedly remained unaware of the displays until shortly before the performance.
