Christian Technician Allegedly Attacked and Threatened in Lahore

A young Christian cable technician, Washaal Masih, is recovering in Lahore, Pakistan, following an alleged abduction and assault on August 20. Masih, a convert to Christianity, reported that three men held him at gunpoint in the Gajju Matta area, demanding that he renounce his faith and convert to Islam. Masih stated that he refused to comply with these demands despite the threats against his life.

Following the incident, Masih attempted to report the assault to local police, but advocates claim that officers failed to properly register the case. As of Wednesday, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack. Mushtaq Sardar Gill, founder of the advocacy group LEAD Ministries, has called on authorities to clarify the status of the investigation and ensure the victim's safety.

Christian leaders, including Pastor Imran Amanat, have condemned the violence and urged the government to protect religious minorities from coercion. Advocates are calling for a thorough investigation, including the review of medical records and security footage, to ensure that those responsible for the alleged religiously motivated violence are held accountable.
