Pastor Criticizes Dearborn City Officials Over Alleged Sharia Law Influence

Pastor Lorenzo Sewell of 180 Church recently addressed the Dearborn, Michigan, City Council, claiming that the city has abandoned American law in favor of Sharia law. Sewell accused local officials of providing preferential treatment to Muslim residents, arguing that the city’s governance is being compromised by religious influence. His comments were made during a period of heightened tension and protests regarding the city's cultural and legal environment.

The controversy follows a physical altercation involving political activist Jake Lang, who was confronted while protesting at a Shiite Muslim religious event known as the Arbaeen March. Lang, who advocates for Christian-rooted American culture, was filmed being struck by counterprotesters. While Dearborn police confirmed the arrest of one individual in connection with the incident and requested public assistance in identifying others, both Sewell and Lang have publicly criticized the police response as inadequate. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office is currently reviewing the case to determine formal charges.
