Mena Massoud discusses potential sequel to biblical film Daniel: The Fiery Furnace

Actor and producer Mena Massoud has expressed interest in developing a sequel to the biblical film Daniel: The Fiery Furnace, following its successful theatrical run. The film, which depicts the early life of the prophet Daniel and his companions in Babylon, debuted on September 18 and secured the sixth spot at the domestic box office during its opening weekend, earning over $3.3 million across more than 1,500 theaters.

Massoud noted that while the creative team is eager to continue the story, future installments depend on the film's ongoing financial performance. Produced on a $2 million budget, the project relied on crowdfunding, and Massoud emphasized the importance of ensuring the film remains a viable business venture for its supporters. He highlighted the challenges independent films face in maintaining theater presence, noting that the production's success is vital for securing potential future projects, such as a film centered on Daniel’s experience in the lions' den.
