Five Biblical Ways for Women to Serve the Church

In a recent teaching, Ligonier Ministries outlines five ways women can utilize their spiritual gifts to build up the body of Christ, grounding these practices in biblical instruction. Drawing on 1 Peter 4:10–11, the author emphasizes that men and women are equal in value and both possess gifts intended to glorify God through service.

The teaching highlights the importance of loving one's family as a foundation for church service, citing Titus 2:4 to explain how sacrificial love at home models the patience and selflessness required within a church community. Furthermore, the author encourages women to teach what is good, referencing Titus 2:3 and 2 Timothy 1:5 to advocate for women’s roles in mentoring, leading Bible studies, and instructing children in the Scriptures.

Finally, the author points to Romans 12:8 and the example of Tabitha in Acts 9:36 to illustrate the significance of mercy ministries. By engaging in acts of charity, such as caring for the sick, the elderly, and those in need, women play a vital role in the practical life and witness of the church.
