Navigating Spiritual Guidance and the Primacy of Scripture

In a recent teaching, the author explores the role of dreams, visions, and spiritual promptings in the life of a believer. Drawing on 1 Corinthians 12–14 and Acts 2:17, the author acknowledges that God continues to use these gifts to guide His people. However, the teaching emphasizes that such experiences should function only as supplements to the Bible, which serves as the primary source of spiritual nourishment and the foundation for godly living.

The author warns against two extremes: becoming overly emotional and unstable by prioritizing subjective experiences, or becoming closed off to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. While noting that Scripture provides essential principles for righteousness, the author explains that the Holy Spirit acts as a helper for specific life directions not explicitly detailed in the Bible, such as the guidance Paul received in Acts 16. Ultimately, the author encourages believers to remain grounded in the Word of God rather than relying on external prophetic voices, urging them to focus on what Jesus Christ communicates daily through the foundation of Scripture.
