Three students killed in military airstrike on Myanmar Bible school
A military airstrike and drone attack on a Bible school in Myanmar’s Karen State resulted in the deaths of three female students and left six others injured. According to Christian Solidarity Worldwide, the assault occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Day Bu Noh village, an area primarily inhabited by the Christian Karen community. The attack involved jet fighters dropping over ten bombs, followed by an hour-long bombardment by armed drones, one of which detonated directly over the school.
Two students died at the scene, while a third succumbed to her injuries while being transported to Thailand for medical care. Christian Solidarity Worldwide condemned the incident as a deliberate targeting of a religious institution and called for international intervention, including an aviation fuel embargo against the military regime. The Myanmar military has been engaged in a civil war against various ethnic armed groups and pro-democracy forces since seizing power in 2021. International observers and rights groups have frequently accused the junta of using airstrikes against civilian populations to suppress resistance.
