Two TikTok Influencers Charged With Arson Following West Virginia Church Fire
Two social media influencers, 22-year-old Dakota Harper and 22-year-old Felicity Eatmon, have been charged with first-degree arson and conspiracy to commit arson in Charleston, West Virginia. The charges follow a September 27 fire that originated in an abandoned home and spread to the nearby Canaan United Methodist Church, resulting in over $10,000 in damages.
Authorities identified the pair through surveillance footage, which allegedly shows the suspects entering an alleyway and igniting a piece of paper inside the vacant structure. Following their arrests on September 29, both individuals appeared in court. Harper’s bond was increased to $20,000 with home confinement requirements, while Eatmon remains held on a $10,000 bond. Supporters of the pair have cited struggles with mental health as contributing factors to their situation.
If convicted on both counts, the defendants face potential prison sentences ranging from seven to 45 years. Investigators have stated that they do not believe the incident was motivated by the suspects' social media activity.
